Event Description
Join fellow Youth Directors for an inspiring afternoon.  This 2 hour session will cover How to Teach Leadership Skills with Alan Feirer   There will also be a session on Mental Health for Teens with Emmalee Bowlin   We will then have breakout sessions for small group discussions.  Take this opportunity to learn with your peers!

You CAN teach leadership skills to youth in a virtual setting. Alan will share practical pointers on simple online tools to maximize engagement. We’ll also talk about the process of deciding what concepts to include in a youth leadership curriculum. There will be a couple of interactive examples of content delivery, and time for Q and A.

Alan Feirer is a professional leadership trainer, author, and consultant. For over 20 years, he has done business as Group Dynamic and served bands, choirs, and other clients all over Iowa, working with leadership teams to get more done and embrace hard work through leadership training and team building. He is the author of The Group Dynamic Field Guide; 51 Ideas Leaders Can Use Todayand The Group Dynamic Field Guide for Youth; 51 Ideas Student Leaders Can Use Today, with foreword by Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser. Before Group Dynamic, Alan was a high school band director for 19 years. Bands and students under his direction have received numerous honors, invitations, and high ratings. Mr. Feirer lives in Winterset, Iowa, with his wife, Julie, and 17-year-old daughter, Mara. He also loves gaming, dining, exercise, and anything Disney.
