Event Description
Accelerate is an annual civic pitch competition that gives individuals a platform to present creative visions to improve lives. Presenters can gain valuable networking connections and cash prizes to bring their ideas to reality. Dozens of initiatives launched since Accelerate debuted in 2015 are impacting everyone from pre-kindergarteners to seniors. Cleveland Leadership Center received ALP's Excellence in Innovation award for the event.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, presenters will compete in preliminary rounds organized into six categories: Authentic Cleveland Experiences, Economic Development, Education, Health & Well-being, Social Change, and Quality of Life. Panels of community leaders will judge the presentations and select one finalist from each category to pitch in the final round on Thursday, during which viewers select the winner. The winning pitch receives $5,000 and five runners-up each receive $2,000. A special Technovation competition rewards pitches that leverage technology to address a civic challenge.
The event is open to anyone, anywhere. Tickets are pay-what-you-can. For one purchase, everyone in a viewing household can access livestreams of the preliminary category competitions, Technovation, and the finals (including voting); and can watch recordings of all pitches throughout the week at their convenience. Registration is required to receive the link.
