Leadership Connections: Community Leadership Impact
Ever heard this from an employer: “Why should I allow my employee to be out of the office for multiple days? And pay for it, too?!” Or from a potential donor: “Sure, everybody loves your program. But does it make a difference in our community? And why should I be a sponsor?”
SHOW ME THE EVIDENCE makes it a whole lot easier to SHOW ME THE MONEY!
Get your hands on the evidence on January 18th!
Kansas Leadership Center released a new study on the impact of community leadership programs on the workplace and community engagement. This research is from a two-year study done by the Third Floor Research and Kansas State Staley School of Leadership Studies.
The result showed that community leadership programs (CLPs) enhance work performance and community engagement:.
• After attending a CLP, graduates use leadership behaviors at their workplace and feel more confident to lead a group.
• CLP participation is strongly linked to increased community engagement, with graduates much more likely to serve or want to serve their communities in an elected or appointed position.
While we all know the work we do in community leadership has an impact on our cohorts and ultimately our communities, there has not been until now a study of impact effectiveness.
Kansas Leadership Center is making available copies of the report and on January 18, 2021, Racquel Thieson, KLC’s Community Leadership Programs Chair, will share results of the survey. The report will also be available in the ALP Resource Library.
